Some monoterpenes contribute floral and fruity nuances to wine in many grape varieties: Muscats, Alsatian and German cultivars (Gewürztraminer, Pinot gris, Riesling, Auxerrois, Scheurebe, Müller-thürgau), Viognier, Albariňo, Muscadelle, some clones of Chardonnay etc. In many cases, terpenes combine with other compounds to generate wine aroma.
